I want everyone to stop reading right now and scroll down the page a little, looking to the left of the page as you do... go ahead, I'll wait. OK, did everyone see the space titled "Followers". I bet most of you did. And I bet most of you just scrolled back to the top to read the rest of this post. Look people, we are not here for our own enjoyment. We write and pour our hearts out to you for a reason... to get followers. We need to know who will be with us and have our backs when the whole thing comes crashing down around us. We can't rebuild the world with just one follower. Well, we could try, but it would be an up-hill battle. So, take some time and click on the link and become a follower of this blog. OK , OK .  We watch TV.  I don't understand people who say things like, "Oh, we don't watch TV." or, "TV rots your brain."  We watch TV and like it.  Favorite shows: Chuck, The Office, Grey's Anatomy, College and Pro-Football, Monk, Psych , Saturday Night Live the Golden Girls (Amy's Favorite) and THE BIGGEST LOSER.  Every Tuesday night at 7 we watch people who are incredibly obese compete with each other to see who can lose the most weight in just a few weeks.  I wouldn't say that we are Reality TV people... as a matter of fact we don't get into Reality TV.  We use to watch Big Brother but we stopped.  I watched Survivor a long time ago (season's one and two) but beginning with season three it all got boring.  The Biggest Loser is different than most Reality TV shows, however... its nice.  What I mean is that for the most part the contestants are rooting for each other and are pushing each other to lose the most weight.  There is some g...

I keep meaning to get a new journal to write my sermon notes in, but as you can see, I keep forgetting. This is what my bulletins look like when I come out of church. Today, particularly, I wrote not only on the front, but also inside and on the back! As of today, a new journal is at least on my Christmas list. Today, Pastor Carl preached a very convicting message from Genesis 13. It truly has me thinking.  He began by asking the congregation the following question, "How good is your faith in the midst of failure?" I, at this point, was thinking to myself,  "My faith is the only thing that gets me thru failure". I was thinking wrong. I don't have faith in times of failure. That is what I love about how Pastor Carl brings us God's word. well, not really since I will have to pay for all 3 individual procedures.  I am having a tonsilectomy , adenoidectomy and Sinus Surgery on Friday, October 24. I have had a vicious cycle of allergy and sinus problems that occur almost monthly. My internist ran a CT scan a few months ago and realized that my sinuses were blocked - they tried meds and she finally referred me to Dr. Scott Harrison (who did Kelly's emergency surgery 3 years ago) He took one look at me, looked over the CT scan and said you'll need all three and we can either split them up or do them all at once... I feel that having all three surgeries at once is logical for me. I wanted to wait until Thanksgiving, but we need to do it while I'm "well" and not risk me being sick.  Please pray that I stay healthy so that I can go ahead and get this over with!!! We are hoping that this is going to help with my migraines as well. They really don't know how long my sinuses have been blocked! Pray f...

I don't think there is much to be said about this picture or maybe there is a lot that can be said. Kelly and I were doing our usual grocery shopping for the week and this happened to catch my eye. It was on the main display in the Kroger Bakery. All I can say is WOW. Kelly suggested I buy it for our girls trip, but they wouldn't let me (note the "not for sale" written on the cake cover). I would have paid big bucks for that cake... and when I say big bucks, I mean like the size of those big checks they give you on game shows... go ahead and take the taxes out.

Last year for Christmas, we gave Sadie a new toy in her stocking. It's a little "Scottie" dog, that is green plaid. It has become the one toy that she loves. It is the only toy that she pays attention to, aside from the frisbee. We named it baby. Daddy plays hide and seek with her - you can actually tell her to stay in the kitchen while you go hide her baby and as soon as you tell her to go get baby, she can go right to it. (I know impressive for a house as big as ours is). Needless to say, if she comes in and baby is "misplaced" she practically has a panic attack. Last night as we were watching the LSU/MSU game, Sadie came into the living room with a piece of material hanging from her mouth and looked at us like "look what I found!" We didn't know what in the world she had in her mouth - I got up, walked into the kitchen - and saw Baby torn open and the stuffing all over the kitchen floor. Sadie lays down and starts to chew on this "mater...

I became a fan of football in general and the NFL in particular in the mid '80's. In 1987 at the tender young age of 10 I proudly donned a tarnished gold colored sweat pants/shirt combo with letters bolder than the color reading, "Who Dat?" I am a football fan. From humble beginnings, simply following LSU football on Saturday and the Saints on Sunday, I have evolved into a week long student of the game. I study teams, players, rosters, depth charts, stadium capacity, defense/offense matchups, gameday weather reports and injury reports. And that is just on Monday morning. By the weekend I have spent far too much time reading and studying all the information that I can get my eyes on just so I can be actively involved in almost every game I have the opportunity to watch.
